Gambian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia have visited and prayed at three important historical mosques in Madinah, one of them is the first masjid to be built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Masjid al-Qiblatayn meaning 'Mosque of the Two Qiblas' is in Madinah and is historically important for Muslims. It is the place Prophet Muhammad PBUH received the command to change the Direction of Prayer from the Temple mount in Jerusalem to Makkah.
The prophet announced the news of the change of direction to his companions in his own mosque, after which the news began to spread. A companion who heard this went to this Masjid to share this news. Upon arriving, he noticed the congregation were already engaged in prayer.
He called out from the back of the mosque that the change of direction has been ordained, and upon hearing this, the imam immediately turned around to face Makkah, and those praying behind him also did so. After that, this mosque came to be known as Masjid al-Qiblatayn.

Therefore, this mosque uniquely contained two Mihrabs. Due to renovation works, the old prayer niche facing Jerusalem was removed, and the one facing Makkah remains. The second mosque, MASJID QUBA is in the village of Quba on the outskirts of Madinah.
According to Islamic scholars, its first stones were positioned by Prophet Muhammad, PBUH as soon as he arrived on his emigration from Makkah to Medina, and the mosque was completed by his companions.
Imam Basirou Leigh a Tour guide said Prophet Muhammad used to go to Masjid QUBA every Saturday and offer a two rakat prayer. He advised others to do the same, saying, "Whoever makes ablutions at home and then goes and prays in the Mosque of Quba, he will have a reward like that of an 'Umrah. The ʿUmrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Ḥajj, which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar.
Aja Adu Lette Sey Managing Director of Tivavoune Travel and tours explained that the Prophet used to walk for a minute to MASJIDUL IJABAH and pray whenever he wants total to Allah whenever he is in solitude or a problem. As soon as he finished praying, Angel Jibrill will come down with an Ayaa and he will know that his prayers are answer.
According to Hadith when Prophet Muhammed returned from Al Aliyaa, he enter his mosque and prayed 2 Rakkas and then turn towards Companions and spoke about 3 wishes he requested to God in which 2 of them saving people from famine and Flooding was accepted and the last wishes regarding the ending of conflicts among the people was not accepted.
