Lady Lina a young Brikama uprising dancehall Queen currently is set to launch her new 6 track EP on 29th November, 2019 at Jokor Night club Brikama.
Blessed with a naturally powerful voice and talents, She developed the love for music at the tender of 12, but started taking it seriously at the age of 14 whilst still at school.
Her dedications in contributing her quota in the socio economic development of The Gambia, prompted her come up with lyrics that merge the current situations on the country. She said every recognised artist should have the courage to launch every song release and perform it in front of the populace before doing so in other shows invited and thats the reason for the EP this November, 2019.
Miss Lina mentioned that, the EP dubbed Mutual vibes has genres including Reggae, Dance, Dancehall and has important messages to different corner of society including the Government, youths and others. Songs include Problem (Situation) which is a message to the government, Legend a tribute song for their master, burble for the Bad girls and boys dem, Killy Demma Featuring Kebs, No real for the real Ghetto boys dem, Conqueror a song collabor with Sophia Byas for their personalities backed by the Kenyan hit disc Jockey DJ Kanji,
She explained that, song title Situation a message that is for the current government to redouble their efforts to democracy, human rights and justice that people especially youths deserve after the struggled for changes recently. Therefore she said, verses like “Hey Mr Government please pay attention we need solution fi di revolution” which is an excerpt from the song title Situation emphasis the need to look for solutions to citizens concern not promises .
Lady Lina noted that, she apologised for not be able to include most of the Gambian artists on stage but quick to mentioned some whom she had collaborated with in some songs including Praisy, Kebs, Not Easy, Sophia, Macka de Don, and Macka B. The show is on Friday 29th November 2019 at Brikama Jokor advance ticket D75 and Gate D100.
Being a sensational dancehall artist, one of her future determination is to be able to play Piano and Guitar as well as to perform her future album on a live band concerts
She echoed the importance for the her song to be listens because most of the messages sent will directly add in solving the current situations Gambians face in their daily life.
She finally promised Gambians that, immediately after the launching, she will be working on partnering with some artists and ready to release an album soonest.
Cognizant to the sudden growth of the Afro Music in The Gambia, she is optimistic that, she and other Gambian dancehall artists will surely make it up because of the maturity and sensational lyrics posses by them not only Gambians but the outside world. Calling on all and sundry especially the Youth Dem to come and feel the Jamaican Type dancehall.
Lady Lina says: 'There has been a few ups and downs on the way. But perseverance and faith brings me to 2019. There's no turning back now. I'm on a mission to showcase my talent worldwide!
