BY kETatadingding Jobarteh the second Kora maestro in the Gambia will be travelling to Germany next week to complete the recording and mastering of the new album he is to release early January 2017.
According to a press release sent to this columnist, Tata will be travelling to Germany alone this time not with the band members, after he finish mastering the album he will try to renew his contracts with the German National Center for Arts and Culture. He may perform festivals again for Germany if plans go through.
According to the press release, Tata will also seek more medical attention on his leg before he finally comes home in December.
“ Fans have been requesting for the album and the album is almost done, as usual mostly the final touches on my album is done in Europe and that’s why am travelling, songs like Berewuleng, Kele, Mbinkoluetc will be mastered in Germany before I come back, early January I will launch the album in a grand style in Brikama” Tata added.
The press released continued to say that the latest song Tata recorded is call KELE, meaning war in mandinka. In the song he was trying to explain to Gambians that elections should not divide us as Gambians but should unite us. He urge Gambians to maintain peace and order during the December 1st presidential pools.
