Bobo Dimmo who is targeting to sell and market the Fulani tribe and culture through his music is all set to launch a 6 track mix tape (EP) at Alliance farncaise October 22nd.
“ LAWOOL” the name of the EP is a Fulani word meaning “ the journey”.
Bobo Dimmo who has hit songs such as “dimo si hewti” is concentrating on songs that can represent both the fula culture and other tribes. He said at the launching 50% of the crowd will be fulas who will be coming to see and enjoy the fula culture.
“ This does not in any way mean that I don’t do other kinds of music, am a youth man and infact started my career with other genres of music but I later realized that I should not represent Jamaica in my music or United states, I wanted to be proud of my culture so I switched to sing in my own language. People welcome the idea and I get lot of followers and fans in the Gambia and beyond”
Bobo Dimmo said he is using this opportunity to invite Gambian music lovers in general and the Fula tribe in particular to his cultural and traditional EP launching which is going down at Alliance on the 22nd October.
“ Lot of other Gambian artists will be there to support me such as Silky Criss, Maha D Hammer, Vypa, Jizzle, Royal Messanger, A2 and Sophia. I will convay a press conference soon to reveal more details about the EP launch”.
