Moses Correa popularly call DJ Rappa of West Coast Radio passed away early Saturday morning and was laid to rest Monday 5pm at the Christian cemetery in Lamin. Thousands of friends, family and loved ones gathered in Lamin Monday evening to pay their last respect to the 23 year old radio and club DJ.
In this edition of Standards Entertainment , DJ Kepz spoke to some of Rappas friends and colleagues about who Rappa was.
DJ G FAAL, WEST COAST RADIO
My name is Gibril Faal but commonly call DJ G faal Rappa was my colleague at the radio at the same time he said he was looking up to me and I should guide him in his carrer as a DJ. Saturday morning I received a call from our boss at the radio saying I should step in for Rappa because he cant make it to the studio, when I ask why she told me that Rappa passed away.
My mouth is still open and my hearth is bleeding that we lost just a talent. He was so polite, so professional and determine. He is full of ambitions and I know he get lot of plans.
Praying for him to rest in peace and I must say that Gambia has a big lost.
DJ FABULIOUS, WEST COAST RADIO.
I am a colleague to him we use to work for the same radio, I was very close to him and I must say that I last spoke to him on Friday then Saturday morning I received the news that he passed away.
In most cases when I cant make it to the radio he is the one I call to step in for me to do my radio shows, even though that we are colleagues he always call me boss and he never look at people in the eye.
He was planning a lot among them is his birthday bash which he said was coming soon and I was already part of the Djs he want to feature on that show.
We are still shocked and the only thing we can do now is to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
DJ SKIBU, TARANGA FM RADIO
We did lot of things together, I live in lamin the same town with him and words cant express how kind hearted DJ Rappa was. When ever any DJ has a show Rappa will take the show as his and do his level best towards the show. He invite his fellow DJs on air and promote their events. He was much loved by lot of people. He was planning his birthday bash but this is what God decided.
I cant talk about all what I did with Rappa but praying for him. May God give him Jannah.
MASS CORREA, RAPPA’S BROTHER
I could not still cry my brother still cant believe that he is gone. The number of people I saw at the funeral told me that I was having a legendary brother, we are the men of the house, all the others are females. Very responsible brother, my family didn’t complain anything whiles he was here, he like giving out and spending for the family.
I brought him up and I know his dreams and goals. We have to be strong now and give the rest to God.
Your legacy live on and you left the family and friends still shocked.
Till we meet again.
